GM APPS ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Calorie Tracker mobile application. This policy details our commitment to GDPR, CCPA, and Google Play Store Safety guidelines.

1. Information Collection and Use

A. Health and Fitness Data: We collect Body Metrics (Weight, Height, Age, Gender) and Nutritional Logs (Calories, Protein, Carbs, Fats) to provide BMR and TDEE calculations and progress tracking.

B. Camera and Images: The App requires camera access for barcode scanning and nutrition label OCR. Images are analyzed locally on your device via ML Kit. Extracted text is sent to our secure Firebase Cloud Functions for parsing. We do not store or upload raw images or photos.

2. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following services to provide the App’s functionality:

Firebase (Google): For Authentication, Firestore Database, and Cloud Functions.
Google Play Services: For core Android functionality and security.
Open Food Facts: To retrieve nutritional data via barcode lookup.
Google AI (Gemini): To process extracted text into nutritional values.

3. Technical Data & Security

To prevent service abuse and manage API costs (Rate Limiting), our backend logs the following:

Authenticated Users: Your Firebase UID is used to track daily scan limits.
Guest Users: Your IP address is used to enforce temporary rate limits to prevent denial-of-service attacks.

All data is encrypted in transit via SSL/TLS and at rest within Google Cloud infrastructure.

4. Data Retention

We retain health data as long as the account is active. Guest/Anonymous data and associated technical logs are subject to automatic purging after 180 days of inactivity.

5. Account & Data Deletion

We support your right to be forgotten. You can request deletion of your data in two ways:

In-App: You can reset your profile and clear meal logs within the App settings.
Full Account Deletion: To permanently delete your account, Firebase UID, and all associated Firestore records (including nutritional history), please email us at gmapps0101@gmail.com.

Upon receipt of a deletion request, we will purge your data from our servers within 30 days.
